How To End A Bad Day Before It Starts!
A quick 7- step guide to always “Have a Great Day”
Have you ever wondered about some of the secrets of life? Like how to find happiness, self-love, or how to perfectly get that golden brown skin glow? Well, I don’t have all the answers to the secrets of life; however, I do have the perfect 7-step guide to ending a bad day before it even starts. And that is your start to revealing the rest of the secrets of life.
Step 1 - Recite Affirmations
Affirmations are powerful tools that allow you to speak into your life, your existence and your future. Creating a list of affirmations to review throughout the day or have written on your bathroom mirror can help you drive any negative thoughts or rough starts away in just seconds.
Step 2 - Control/ Practice Deep Breathing
Now most people try to control everything - I’m guilty of this as well. However, it is best to understand that you can only control YOU. Your reactions will either help catapult you towards “GREATNESS” or have you plunge towards “DEFEAT”. This is where practicing deep breathing can save the day. Deep breathing has a natural therapeutic, stress-reducing quality that can stimulate your parasympathetic nervous system, thus quieting down your stress response.
Step 3 - Take a Shower
You just laughed when you read this simple step. We don’t always go in-depth on the thoughts of taking a shower. I mean the metaphorical “cleansing” that can wash away all negative thoughts, energies, and increase the circulation of refreshing positivity.
It’s also possible to combine step 2 and 3 together to maximize on the effects of feeling free, renewed and to breathe life into a new situation.
Step 4 - Listen to Music
Everybody has that one song that will always get them “out of a funk”. You know , your favorite song like “Finesse” by Bruno Mars or Cardi B “Invasion of Privacy” or “You Can’t Stop Me’ by Andy Mineo. Oh, the list goes on, so this is your opportunity to make a “FEEL GOOD” playlist that you can utilize as your Bad Day Bug Spray. (lol)
Step 5 - Give/ Be Selfless
We often overlook human touch as a form of therapy. A simple hug or warm embrace can often run away the start of a bad day. It’s seen as a form of energy healing, but let’s take it a step further. If you can be selfless and focus on making other people smile, feel loved or appreciated; you will forget about the bad day that tried to get you down in the first place.
Step 6 - Be one with nature
Being stuck inside all day without direct exposure from the sun can have you feeling drained. Those glorious rays of sunshine help recharge your energy like a battery on E. You need this, so feel free to lose your shoes and walk barefoot in the grass, or get a yoga mat and stretch away. Connect with nature and feel the earth’s magnetic field help lower your stress hormones.
Step 7 - Go Back to Sleep
Now only try this step if you have the time to do so. Sometimes we just wake up on the wrong side of the bed, and it is okay to say “No, this is not how my day will begin!”. Take a deep breath and lay right back down. Get comfortable and get some rest! A lack of sleep can cause a bad day to rear its ugly head, therefore, grab a few more zzz and start again on the RIGHT SIDE!
These are just a few ways and ideas to turn a bad day around. What helps you end a bad day before it starts?
